Producer – Freelance

Tether is looking for a freelance Producer to work on a project basis for several weeks. The producer will work with creative team and video vendors to execute on creative visions. Will manage pre-production, production and post-production aspects needed for specific projects. All work will be done as a team with a creative director, lead designer and writer. The ideal candidate will be highly knowledgeable in the video and interactive spaces and an innovative thinker with a get-it-done attitude.


  • Create and maintain the production schedule that outlines milestones, realistic deliverables and delivery date
  • Schedule all internal reviews and creative team meetings as necessary
  • Create clear and comprehensive production estimates based on the specifications supplied by the Account and Creative Teams
  • Maintain the legal compliance of the agency
  • Negotiate all vendor overage costs and usage rights, etc
  • Develop accurate specifications for production related jobs and manage the production of those jobs for on-time deliveries
  • Establish quality standards and monitor vendor adherence to quality expectations
  • Review and evaluate all original art, art production materials, or other production materials and the final project for adherence to the specifications at the expected agency quality standard
  • Serve as client contact, lead regular client status meetings/calls with the creative team
  • Understand and communicate client business needs to the internal team
  • Communicate effectively both internally and externally to set and manage expectations
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the engagement
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Budget tracking and reconciliation reporting


  •  3-5 + years of interactive and/or video production experience, preferably in an agency setting
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience 
  • Video Production schedule and process knowledge
  • Knowledge of video vendors and crew
  • Able to lead teams and make recommendations on production aspects of projects
  • Able to manage production and post production in partnership with the creative team
  • Proven success in the strategy, planning, and implementation of client facing projects
  • Hands-on background in video and digital processes and platforms
  • Digital / interactive production experience is a must-have
  • Able to serve as line producer in support of in-house productions
  • Ample experience working with AICP bids, guidelines and best practices
  • Must have a clear understanding of SAG talent usage fees and all rules and regulations pertaining to union talent
  • Strong problem solving and decision making ability
  • Exemplary communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong negotiating skills
  • Highly honed team management and collaboration expertise
  • Experience with fully integrated CMS and CRM client tools
  • Creative, solutions-driven and organized to ensure high-quality work is delivered on time, in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Understand technology (and learn the unfamiliar quickly)
  • photography experience a plus.
