Just wondering, but is it possible to use Tether to bridge a connection with my Blackberry to my PC (which I'm using now as a temporary solution for internet), and a LAN connection (to connect my laptop to say, my xbox 360). I know that its not a practical solution, but just wanted to test it out to see if I -could- connect my xbox to LIVE. Wanted to connect to LIVE to get back with some buddies and -maybe- go on multiplayer. In comparison to connection speed and my landline internet (which is currently down due to a busted modem), the ping and connection speed isn't all that much different, so it's something I want to test.

Home network (DSL):

DL 90kb/s
UL 15kb/s
Ping ~145ms (google.com)

Blackberry Network:

DL 120kb/s
UL 60kb/s
Ping ~150ms (google.com)

So far every time I try bridging my LAN and Tether Ethernet Adapters, I already have Tether started on both my blackberry and laptop, the network just stops, and after 5 minutes no connection to the internet, so I disabled tether, took down the bridge and reconnected tether from PC to BB and I was back online.

Any suggestions I could do to bridge the connections, if its possible?

I don't believe you can "bridge" a Tether connection. It is in same principle that you can not directly "bridge" any tunneling connection.

The way you do this in Windows is right click the tethered connection > go to properties > advanced > and enable "Internet Connection Sharing" and under "Home networking connection:" you would put your PC's lan connection. Next you make sure your PC LAN's IP address is 192.168.0.1 with a netmask of 255.255.255.0 and your routers IP as the DNS server. Then plug the cable from your LAN to your routers WAN and your good to go, you have tethered internet to all your devices.

You could leave out the router and plug the LAN cable from the PC running Tether to your Xbox 360.

Please help! I tried for days to do this then came across your post and it worked! But read what happened:

Here's my setup:

* I am using a Blackberry to USB tether to my desktop (internet works on pc)

*Ethernet to WAN (from PC that has internet to wifi router)

*I get DNS is not responding now from any other computer connected to the network either wired or wifi

* Set up my network as following: Tether has internet sharing turned on and connected to Local Area Connection

* Local Area Connection has IP4 configured as:

IP address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default: blank

Preferred DNS Server: 192.168.1.1 (my ethernet connection so the internet connection is sent to wifi router)

I have tried everything...I mean days of effort and searching. IP6 is disabled. Microsoft Virtual is disabled.

This SAME exact setup was working perfectly a week ago with an older Linksys Wifi router. Then I bought a new Linksys E2000 and because I wanted something new (Bad move). That setup no longer worked on the new router....now it no longer works on the old router.

I get DNS Server isnt responding now on any other computer trying to access the network through wire or wifi. I'm running Win7 FYI

Please please please help, I've seriously tried everything and then finally came across a thread that got it working but then broke it with the new router....I wouldnt post if I didnt troubleshoot for hours upon hours

Thank you!
