Blackberry 9530 v5.0.0.328. Works great using both USB and Bluetooth on a Windows XP machine. Same phone on a Windows 7 machine Tether works fine with USB, not with Bluetooth. Devices show they are connected in Control Panel (on the PC) and in the Blackberry Options/Bluetooth dialogue. But on the PC, it says "Starting inquiry" and on the Blackberry "Waiting for Bluetooth connection" and never gets any further.

I lied. If you are patient, after 60 seconds the PC message changes to "Looking for services" and then pretty quickly the connection is made. Once connected, performance is similar to USB with 450Kbs down and 300Kbs up using Verizon.

So what is causing the 60 second delay in connecting. Any other attempts to connect the PC to the Blackberry as essentially instantaneous.

Thanks for the info. My setup does the same as you described, however I wasn't as patient as you. It does work if you wait, but it seems very silly for the system to take so long to connect. I had no connection delays with Vista Ultimate, but Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit) takes AT LEAST 60 seconds to connect. Please fix :)

UPDATE: While is does finally connect, I have no internet connectivity even though the network says I do. :(

Which version of Tether are your running? Version 1.1.0.2 will have much fast to establish Bluetooth connection by allowing use to select Bluetooth device to use.

Previously, Tether will "search" through all the devices and waiting for time out until find right device with proper handshake. If you have other bluetooth devices on the system, such as mouse, keyboard, etc., it could take awhile to get to your phone.....
