Are there any plans to have a connection for Tether to Android tablets? I have Tether on my BlackBerry Storm (which works great with my Windows laptop) but I'd like to get an Android tablet and being able to tether it would be great.

At this time we don't have any plans for it, but I'll keep it mind for our next development round.

I'm sure there are thousands of people out there in the same boat as me who have been phished off with Blackberry, and bought a tablet Android for personal use and have no way to get a connection 3G out and about unless we pay money for WLAN stupid coffee shop. Though I don't know more about Mobile Analytics but all I want is to Tether for connection. Can anyone help?

Add my vote to that as well. Just bought an Archos tablet and would love to be able to Tether to my Blackberry.
Thanks

I was considering a Samsung Galaxy tablet for Christmas, but only if I could tether it using my BlackBerry.

Decision made - I'll wait for the Playbook.

I also want to connect my android tablet to an android phone. Read the android tablet message boards and you'll see many possible customers now that the archos 7 and 10 tablets are on the market. There is no working tether app for these tablets. Yours doesn't work either!

Is this possible? I would pay for this! Please do this. I have an archos as well.

I purchased Tether in November after seeing the success of an associate using it. It didn't work for me, nor could I seem to get a direct solution to the problem from support. Then a trip to Ohio jolted something and it worked perfectly.

I had to make a trip to Europe and didn't use it for much of December, then upon my return, it has failed to connect again.

I simply don't know what to do, what settings to explore for change, or any logical explanation for the failure.

So far, for me, Tether is more unreliable than my first car purchase as a teenager!

Tablet are the new PCs. You did a great job linking PCs to the internet. Please make it so that we can tether iPads and Honeycombs to to our mobile devices!

This is something you definatley need to develop..

Tablet PC (Andriod 2.2) tether to Blackberry via Bluetooth or USB

I'm sure there are thousands of ppl out there in the same boat as me that have a Work issued Blackberry, and have bought an Android Tablet for personal use and have no way of getting a 3g connection when out and about unless we pay silly money for coffee shop WiFi logins.

Do us all a favour Tether and work on getting this feature included in the next release you would be the first ppl to do it!

Really interested in this feature too. Found quite a few threads on Xoom forums about this. Seems that many that purchased Wifi Xooms are looking to tether them to their Blackberries for mobile data when not around a wifi hotspot.

I hope you do not take too long to develop the BB - Galaxy Tablet tethering. I have purchased a Galxy Tab CDMA , and unfortunately here in Brazil we do not have CDMA any more, only GSM. So I depend on wifi conecctions, and the conection with my BB would be very useful when traveling.

Have there been more consideration on developing for android tablet? I Would love to purchase. Bought 2 android tablets under the assumption that I could tether as I have for a few years with reg PCs.

I fifth that notion! I have a andriod tablet and a BB torch. Tether is perfect on my laptop but as I get "tech happy" the problems get more...problematic. Please create an andriod as a PC app or .exe, and soon we're getting antsy.

And again a vote from me - there is definitely an urgent need / huge market for tethering Android PADS to Blackberries etc, 5 of us in one small department that have either ASUS Transformers & the Motorola Xoom and we are all scouring the internet to see how we can tether these devices to our phones.
ASUS are releasing a new generation of Android tablets in the next few weeks, as one person put it, the market is exploding!

I went ahead and bought the BlackBerry PlayBook, with absolutely no regrets. IOS is great. Android is awesome. But the Playbook/QNX system, for me, is #1. (And predictably the built-in tethering works beautifully.)

If you don't already have a tablet, ignore the industry analysts and so-called experts (who may well be going long on RIMM and Google and shorting AAPL while slamming RIMM), do your homework, and seriously consider this device. You won't be sorry.

I am a paid Tether client - have had the app since it was an infant! I LOVE Tether....it just keeps getting better and better, the UI is really smooth in the latest update.

I now own an Android tablet (Galaxy Tab) and want to tether to my BlackBerry. This would be soooo appreciated! Is this product/function even a possibility? If so ---- any timeline known?

Please, please, please! I'd be willing to pay a subscription or small monthly fee for this! Verizon wants $50 / month whether I use the mobile hot spot or not! Pay as you go is the only way to go! Don't let them bully you!

Hi... I am in the same boat. Android tablet and want to tether my tablet to my BB using Bluetooth or make my BB a wifi hotspot (if that is even possible) to connect.

So just another willing customer ready to buy.

Sounds like you have the application to tether PC's to Android phones, so hopefully your Android guys can figure this out.

Has anyone else found a workaround?

There is one indirect way to tether your iPad. You can use internet on your iPad through your windows pc by creating Hptspot on windows pc. You can use third party utility like connectify.me for that. .

How may votes are needed? I vote yes for this as well. All you need to do is support a compatible Bluetooth protocol like PAN (or even DUN I suppose) and we can tether. How hard can that be? There is thousands in revenue in this board alone. I am ready to buy. Please give me what I want!
