I updated my OS to 5 on my BB Tour today and when I tried Tether the speeds were about half what they had been?
Also, Tether on the BB advises when there's a update of the device software, but how do we check to see if the PC driver needs updating?

same issue. new 5.0.591 official.previous version i was using was 5.0.412. i really dont want to downgrade.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this slowdown using Tether, are you using the latest Tether software v1.1.0.2 on the BlackBerry and the desktop?
How much slower is Tether with the new BlackBerry OS?
Is this over Bluetooth or USB?

USB, using 1.1.0.2
UPDATE: if any other users upgraded their BlackBerry OS to the latest official 5.0.591, and first BACKED UP the apps on their phone, upgraded the OS, and then later had the app restored automatically, try uninstalling tether on the phone, and re-install it. for some reason I did this, and it seemed to fix my speeds.

I updated to 5.0.591 and when I tether is says tether not found on device. I uninstalled on my mac and blackberry rebooted and reinstalled and still no go :(

Whats the error you receive on the Tether desktop client, whats the error you receive on the Tether BlackBerry app?

I can't seem to find my registration number for tether for my phone. I have already paid for it. I love it but cannot use it at this time.

latester1 I have submitted your registration code via email.
The latest Tether desktop software is v1.1.0.2 and you can check what version your using by looking at the Tether application on the PC on the lower right side corner it shows the version.
If you continue to have slow speeds you can always downgrade back to the previous BlackBerry OS, what was your previous BlackBerry OS revision and what is the current revision?
