Would it be possible (in a future version) to allow the user to set a daily or monthly bandwidth cap after which the application would lock itself out? Many providers have a "fair use" level of service (i.e. 5GB per month) and I'd love to be able to track/limit myself within my billing cycle to prevent overages. Maybe even some graphing capabilities to allow myself to monitor my usage toward that target (i.e. know to plug in / go on WiFi more often if I'm using more bandwidth than expected).
Bandwidth Cap
Building on my last comment, this tracking would be inaccurate as we use our BlackBerries for other purposes (i.e. email on the device). Would there be a way to pull live data usage information from select network providers (i.e. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint in the US)? Each should have some type of interface or API from which the information could be pulled.
Some real nice enhancement for this. If you can add the following it would be awesome!!!!
Allow multiple counters.. You have used per session, but what about TOTAL and MONTHLY where you can set the day of the month for the monthly to reset.
This would have to have some communications to your server to track this as people might use different PC's to access the network so tracking it locally on the workstation using the tether would not always work.
The other enhancement is to allow SYSTEM TRAY.
:-)
You can call it inaccurate, but why are you even using 5GB? I used a remote desktop for like 3 hours and it was only 80MB..(just had it on lowest quality) set your cap to 2.5GB then if ur BB even uses another gig(unlikely) you are still very far under.
In the mean time, check out:

Just eveyone switch to VZW... They dont care.

We have discussed this many times internally. I believe this will be available in the future.
