Just saying, the website re-direct is a poor business choice, seing as it is a red-flag to carriers. Once I start getting charged beyond my data use, I'll stop using your product. NBD, I already paid, right? Well, sure, unless you consider my interest in referrals. Oh, and since you decided to double-charge for OS swaps instead of porting licenses, it's another reason to not keep me as a customer when I swap to droid next month. Love your app, but your business model is going to kill your market.
Bad business model? New re-direct to Tether website at connect.
You could easily do the same thing without opening the browser. This kind of traffic checking can be built right into the tether client. I agree 100% with the original poster, as would 99% of users. I lodged a support issue just to complain about it. We didn't buy your product and allow it onto our PCs and phones for you to make a little extra Adsense or Analytics coin from. That search field on your unwanted start page shows exactly what your trying to achieve, and its not QC. Considering how quickly Blackberry is floundering in First World countries and that every Android phone has a hotspot included, your team needs to avoid further annoying its users.
I just close the window. Not real hard. I use Chrome, so I close it.
The Tether web page that comes up, after the internet is established, is a minor annoyance. Can you please disable this feature? Thank you.
The new website redirect is more from an analytical perspective. It allows us to understand what portion of our users who attempt to use our product actually make it to that step and successfully send data. This allows us to improve the quality of our product.
