Are there plans to get Tether to work on this device, or does it already? I'm thinking of getting a Archos 5 Internet tablet with Android and would love to be able to use my BB for internet access.

Ya, it is currently running Android 1.6 from what I can tell from the web.
It is actually running Archos Linux with Android 1.6 on top I guess.

Once I get it I'll give it a try, how do I access the beta Android software so I can test it? Do I sign up on the beta page?

I think I should clarify.
The idea would be to use the ARCHOS 5 Internet Tablet as the 'PC' and connect it to my BB using bluetooth. Tether would be on my BB so I can use the BB's internet connection.
So the question is, would it be possible to get the 'PC' side of Tether running on the ARCHOS 5 Internet Tablet so I can connect it to my BB to get internet access when I can not use the built in wi-fi of the ARCHOS 5?

Just sign up on our Android Beta page.
I can't guarantee our product will work for this device. At this time we do not have plans for developing specifically for this device if it doesn't work.

Does it have any problems with internet security software compatibility? That is something very important for me as I browse a lot from my phone over the Internet and I don't anyone having access to my personal data.

The archos 5 IT tethers ok using dun and pan over bluetooth. I have tried both.

just checking in on this topic...maybe wifi hotspot on the 9930?
Does this device run on Android? If it does then it most likely will work for the device, but you can be our beta tester :P
