It fails to make a connection when I follow all the instructions at http://tether.com/android/download
"2.On your Android phone go to Settings->Applications->Development and check USB debugging. This step is very important."
Unfortunately it does not say what connection type to use?
We have the options of "Charge only, disk drive, HTC sync, Mobile broadband connect"
I see others have the same issue:

For me it hangs trying to make a USB connection.
it just keeps switching back and forth telling me "Please make sure USB
debugging is enabled on your Android", as well as saying "Connected to
Android. Checking USB settings."
- On the phone, it only states "Waiting for connection over USB.
What is the USB connection type suppose to be as it offers Charge Only, HTC Sync, Disk Drive, and Moble broadband connect?
The default is "Charge only". But none of them seem to help. Mobile Broadband connect does not even get past the registration check. The others get to the USB connection trying at least and flashes the messages above and checking USB settings.
I saw at least one person got it to work and another once in a while.
Can someone please tell us what the trick is to making it work?
I am using tether version v 1.4.4.0 on PC and v 1.1.0.1 on the phone.
The Phone log just says:
Trial License
Waiting for connection over USB
I was able to resolve this issue by doing the following with a customer:
"Could you remove HTC Sync from the PC and select "Share Internet Connection" when selecting a USB type?"
Let me know if this work because I will have to look into this issue further.
