Hi,

I've been trying to fix this issue for awhile now to no avail. A few weeks ago I would be able to download files on uTorrent with decent speeds of 30-40kbps and it gets me what I need since I can't get cable or dsl. Anyway as of now it goes tops at 2kbps and then stops. Every other internet program runs exactly the same as it used to. I've tried reinstalling both the computer software and BB software. Turned off windows firewall and even all anti-virus software. Even tried installing it all onto a different computer and same thing. I'm not sure what's going on but it's driving me crazy and I'd appreciate any help.

Have you tried any other torrent client.

Yes I've tried about 3 or 4.
Also disabled all connections except tether.

I have used BitSpirit and uTorrent successfully with Tether in some tests, how long have you been having this issue?

About 2 or 3 weeks ago it just stopped working. I'm honestly all out of ideas.

I will run some tests this evening with uTorrent and let you know something.

Thankyou.
Also something I forgot to include. After opening Utorrent and it starts dl'ing slowly it kills the ability to use any other program that uses the internet. It doesn't start working again until I close utorrent.

Sounds like you need to turn the connection limit way down in uTorrent. And limit the downloads to one at a time even, the BlackBerry isn't designed to handle so many connections at once.

I have had uTorrent drag down a 10 megabit DSL connection, when this happens no other internet enabled application will work. uTorrent is very aggressive in the way it makes connections, this is why I use BitSpirit....downloads (always legal) take longer to start but are stable and fast.

Tried setting my utorrent download speed down to 28.8kps and then to 56kps but still no change. Also tried BitSpirit but it just doesn't start at all. Tried several different torrents. More and more confused by the minute. Do you have sprint as your carrier?

Also one other thing, I ran the setup guide on utorrent and it told me that
"Port is not open: But you are still able to download"
Which I don't understand since I have nothing on to block ports.
Also at the bottom of the utorrent screen is a red "!" when I mouse over it it says a firewall/router is limiting your network traffic. You need to open a port so others can connect to you"
I have no firewall to speak of or anything else that would inhibit this.

I am on Verizon but still CDMA like yourself.

Your "!" "a firewall/router is limiting your network traffic" issue is probably the Windows firewall is running without your knowledge.

I cannot do any accurate tests tonight, the wind is gusting to 30+ mph and causing my signal quality to be terrible. I will try tomorrow when things are calm.

I went through administrative tools and shut off the process completely for the firewall. Still no go. I know nothing of IPV4 and IPV6 but could it be possible it's not working because it's running the internet connection through the IPV4 on my machine? I can turn off IPV6 in the settings and it works still.

Ok I did a little research and downloading torrents with Tether is not supported, it is to create a better overall experience for everyone since torrents strain the network.

Didn't you say it worked fine for you?

I hadn't tried it in a while. The tests I was talking about I ran back when I first got Tether, I couldn't get a connection today at all.

That's weird, I've tried literally everything I can think of to fix this. Still won't go past 4 kbps on anything.
