Android Device Driver not installed for Samsung Epic 4G

I am having same problem as rwardynski except with a HTC EVO

Could you download and install the following version of Tether on your PC to see if it helps resolve the driver issue:

http://tether.com/a/setup.exe

Ok. Installed the setup program and now made it past the error I had earlier.

Now, on the PC the status shows "Please make sure your android is connected". Then it says, "Make sure USB debugging is enabled on you Android".

On the phone (Sprint Epic), status shows "Waiting for connection over USB".

I do have debugging turned on, on the phone.

If I unplug the phone, I do get the message "Android device not found". When I plug it back in, the phone says "USB Connected".

Please inform of next steps to try and get this working.

Could you provide me with the Model Number of your Samsung Epic?

You can find it by going to the following on the Android:

Settings -> About Phone -> Model

The model number is: SPH-D700

Could you download and install the following driver to your PC:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/SPH-D700ZKASPR

You will see a Software tab on this page for the driver download.

Had the Samsung drivers previously installed. I uninstalled, then reinstalled from the link provided. Still no luck. Same problem as last stated in Post #3.

When Tether is running on the Android could you press the Android menu button and select |View Logging"?

Could you provide me with the logging?

Same problem on HTC EVO (Beta testing was working fine)

Any information yet on this problem?? Its now been a month and Tether still does not work on my EPIC. I haven't heard anything back regarding the ticket that was opened on this problem either.

Would just like an update.

I have the same prob on the LG VORTEX, ANDROID VERSION 2.2, Says no driver, went to get help and there is no driver update for this phone. Ive been with tether 1 yr 15 weeks so could i get some help here?

I have brand new Epic and identical situation as rwardynski. Tether rep not providing resolution. I suspect that Sprint and/or Samsung (Qualcomm) have found a way to stop Tether. If its not resolved very soon, I'll cancel Tether. I'm sure that Sprint and other carriers have been working on methods to stop Tether. Tether's days may be numbered. It is also very discouraging that a Tether customer must wait days to get a response to support inquiries.
