First and foremost thanks for the opportunity to give this a go-just a couple issues I cant seem to resolve:

I am running the 9530 on AT&T on a Vista 32bit Laptop. Ive installed, uninstalled and installed the proggies on both the phone and computer three times now and am still not having any luck.

The majority of the time Tetherberry doesnt fully connect to the phone-it says start the Tetherberry on the phone, I do that and it never registers. Usually after a battery pull or two, unplugging the usb a few times and restarting the program a couple times it will connect but just sends packets, never receives and eventually comes up with an "Unhandled Null" error. I try to close out of the proggy on the phone, it locks up and I have to battery pull to get it to normalize.

I checked the VPN settings a few times and am running the info for Cingular as thats whats required for the service books, etc. to work for ATT on unlocked storm. As per the VPN settings page I could probably leave it blank but dont want to jeapordize everything else working for the network.

Also, usually when I start tetherberry on the phone it automatically pushes my connection from EDGE to edge.

Any help would be great! Thanks again!

Can you check if the TetherBerry application on the phone has been given all of the proper permissions.

Also, based on (http://www.webmessenger.com/support/APN.jsp) it is showing that your APN should be set to either proxy or public and the username and passwords should be blank.

Also, are you running the application on the PC as an administrator?

Let me know if this helps at all.

Yes, all the permissions are set to allow an I am running the app on my PC as the administrator.

My only qualm about changing the APN would be the requirements setup to use my unlocked storm on AT&T-sounds like the wap.cingular settings coincide with the service books and making everything like the browser, etc. work with AT&T. Do you know if changing the settings would be an issue?

Thanks!

So for an update:

I tried inputing the AT&T APN settings on the webpage and it seems Im only getting and edge connection now and am still unable to connect to Tetherberry.

But its the Tunnel error now so at least its a different error!

Whenever someone has the Tunnel error they eventually get working by applying the correct APN settings or giving the proper permissions to the TetherBerry app on the phone.

I'm not sure what else to suggest.

Hmm Im not sure either-I tried the APN settings set at proxy, public (both no username/password) and the APN settings for Cingular's WAP too (mentioned as being required for the unlocked Storm on AT&T http://forums.crackberry.com/f135/howto-get-all-features-browser-mms-wor...).

I dont know what to do from here either-Ive looked through but havnt seen any but has there been luck getting this to work with Storms on AT&T? I could easily see it working with Verizon as intended but the AT&T puts a little twist in it.

Thanks

Sorry that I can't think of anything at the moment to help you with this. If I run across anyone with a similar issue that is able to solve it I will let you know.

We are going to try and get approved in the BlackBerry Developer Alliance in the future which will allow us to use the BISB connection like the built in browser. If we can get into this program, it will remove the requirement for APN Settings.

Sounds good, definitely keep me in the loop as I look forward to using Tetherberry in the future!

Thanks for all your help!

I am having the exact same problem with an unlocked Storm 9530 on TMobile's network. It is frustrating because my APN settings are correct, but as soon as it connects it says "unhandled null" on the Blackberry and then it freezes it until I do a battery pull. The application on the computer just shows that it doesn't receive any packets.

Did anyone figure out what to do here? I'd like to be able to use this with my laptop!
