8330 vs 9330 tether speed

I have been using tether over a year now before when it was called tetherberry. The app is great, no major complaints. My problem is the speed is slow on the 8330, slow processor, low memory. Verizon Carrier. My question is if I purchase the 9330 with a processor that is much bigger and more memory would MY TETHERING BE THAT MUCH FASTER? Thanks in advance.
